APOLOGETICS IV
Welcome to the Aeropagus
When Paul reached Athens, his spirit was provoked because he saw the city was given over to idols. He then started to reason with the Jews and Gentiles that were there in the Synagogue and the marketplace. He then encountered some Epicurean and Stoic philosophers who began to question what he was saying. Then they took Paul to the Aeropagas and inquired about his “New Doctrine”. Then Paul stood in the midst of the Aeropagus and said,
“Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very religious; for as I was passing through and considering the objects of your worship, I even found an altar with this inscription:
TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.
Therefore, the One whom you worship without knowing, Him I proclaim to you:
Paul’s objective was to introduce them to the living God of Christianity.
Unlike the Agnostic (I don’t know if God Exist), the Skeptic (I doubt God Exist) and the Atheist (I deny God exist) the God that Paul preached at Athens was “Transcendent”, “Infinite” and above all “Knowable”.
This 8-lesson program is designed to assist the Christian believer with making the unknown God to many a knowable God to all.
